 Widening the International Scope
The events of the past twelve months have once and for all proven that the world today is more closely connected than ever before. Nobody is immune to what is happening in a different part of the world and the effects, positive or negative, are spreading much faster.

Moreover, a natural effect of the credit crunch is that companies are searching for ways to bring down costs, and many companies see outsourcing production and service tasks to other countries as a viable solution. In other words, the trend of the globally based company is accelerating, and companies today operate across borders and different cultures.

The trend extends to recruitment of key employees. Your next key employee may have to be located at a production facility on a different continent, or the best suited candidate may be located somewhere abroad.

Global awareness of candidates
The awareness is spreading among candidates as well. Out of the 70,000+ candidates in the global SAM CV database, almost 10 percent have indicated that geography is no restriction to them and that they are willing to work anywhere in the world. As headhunters, we believe that the actual number of candidates, who would be willing to move to another continent given the right circumstances, is even higher.

In SAM Headhunting, we also believe that the ability to attract the right employees, regardless of previous location, will be central for 21st century business. Therefore, we have this month released SAM web sites in Taiwan and Argentina. Visit them here:

In addition, we are also proud to present Chris Jackson as the new Managing Partner in SAM Headhunting Dubai. He has been on buy and sell side of recruitment for over 30 years. A former Board Director with BAT Industries and Royal Insurance, he built and sold a multi-disciplinary HR Consulting & Search business. He has recruited 'C' level roles across all five continents and has lived in the Middle East for several years.

We see the global marketplace as the corner stone of 21st century, and we strongly believe in the fantastic opportunities, it will offer companies as well as internationally minded candidates. As a result, we expect to expand to new markets in the months to come, and we will of course announce this in the future editions of the SAM Bulletin.
