Many people had not been in the job market for several years when the current financial crisis struck. They had solid jobs or managed solid companies, until everything was turned on its head. A lot of people suddenly found themselves seeking a new job or had to re-shape their organisation to deal with lower levels of activity.

However, the Internet is full of advice for people having to navigate in the job market. We have decided to use this bulletin to link to a few of them.

Monster UK Expert Career Advice
The UK franchise of the international job board features an “Expert Career Advice”-section, in which they, among other things, offer tips for writing CVs, what to do at job interviews and advice concerning salary levels.

The Guardian “Are you in the right job?”-quiz
This is another link from the UK. In their career section, The Guardian features a small multiple choice questionnaire in which you can see whether you fit into the culture of your current workplace and which kinds of workplace would suit your personality the best.

Ask the headhunter
Asktheheadhunter.com is written and maintained by Nick Corcodilos, an American headhunter. His advice is very much concerned with being proactive, both as a candidate and the hiring company. You can sign up for a free newsletter in which he answers questions from the readers.
